We are currently reading submissions for issue 8, due in June 2012. Please note that our submissions close one month before the release date of each issue, in this case the next deadline is 1st May 2012.
Issue 8 will be an all-poetry issue, followed by an all-fiction issue for Issue 9.
We welcome all literary submissions to Sparkbright magazine. If you would like to submit your work, please follow these guidelines:
- Please send all submissions via e-mail.
- Each author may send only one submission per category (poetry or prose) per issue.
- Prose pieces should be limited to 1500 words, and only one piece of prose should be submitted at any one time.
- Poetry submissions should consist of no more than three poems, each of which should be no longer than 40 lines.
- Submissions should be copied and pasted into the body of an email. No attachments please.
- Previously published work will be considered, provided that the details of the previous publication are included.
- The subject line of the email should include your name and the word “Submission”.
- Authors will retain the rights to all submitted and published works.
- Please send your submissions to submissions@sparkbright.org. We will answer all submission e-mails as quickly as possible. However, it may take us a while to get back to you, so please be patient!
It is recommended that you download a (free) copy of the magazine to get a taste for what types of submissions we are looking for, as well as to check out our cover art.
Authors whose works are published in two consecutive issues of Sparkbright should wait at least one issue before submitting additional pieces.
Note: Sparkbright is a non-profit magazine. Therefore we are currently unable to provide contributors with any form of payment.
